at 11:00 you see it extending off of pescadero through half moon bay. south san francisco, and the city. it moves to the east, but more is on the way. you can see the showers just off shore at 6:00 a.m.. you can see, widely scattered action, mostly centered on the south bay. the santa cruz mountains will pick up the most from this. then, by the time we get to late wednesday night, the rain begins to dry up from the north to south, and a shield of high clouds over the rest of the bay area. tomorrow looks like a good bet, but by wednesday night, chances diminish, and then look at thursday, friday, saturday, sunday. hardly any rain at all, but enhanced chances by the time we get into sunday, monday, and tuesday. more is on the way in the early part of 2022. it will be dry on new year's eve and day, but the fireworks celebrations in san francisco have been canceled because of covid concerns. often honoring tonight, no big rainmaker. we stay wet on wednesday. totals will be 0.5 inches to 0.75 inches. then we clear that up. the dry break begins on thursday. t

water a crossroads in san mateo county today, several creeks are overflowing at the beaches and pescaderoreek road partially flooded, east of the bridge. they also tweeted out this video alerting drivers all lanes on about a mile portion of highway 92 are closed due to flooding. cal fire says the highway is flooded from spanish town store to repel those greenhouse florist. there is no estimate yet on when that stretch of road is going to reopen just east of that closure. also on highway 92 cal fire had to help rescue 2 people that were trapped in flood waters this is video from them as well. crews tell us fortunately, no injuries in all of this. but they say it's an important reminder that just a few inches of water can sweep even a large vehicle off of the road. meanwhile, in burlingame, this is video of rollins road posted on the citizen app. rain from the overnight and early morning hours caused flooding there as well. you can see just how much water gathered as that truck made its way through a reminder, especially if you're in a smaller car, you should not be trying to drive into any
