as i mentioned, when we were driving down 101 to petaluma, you saw the rain pick up from petaluma to about san rafael, then they tapered off once we got here. for folks driving this morning with the morning commute and the rain. of course, you want to take your time, be cautious on the slippery road, especially with hydroplaning being a big issue. we talked to chp about it. here is what they had to say. >> we saw that a few weeks ago, beginning of october when we had decent rainfall in the north bay. the chp was going from call to call all day long. you can see it firsthand, people weren't slowing down, people weren't following at a safe enough distance. when you get the first rains of the season, you really have to back it off. that's one of the most dangerous times. >> reporter: as the rain picks up, you will see flooding. depending on the volume of rain this area. chp says they won't add more personnel as a result of the storm but they land to be more visible in an attempt to hopefully slow down drivers. live in mill valley, pete suratos, "today in the bay." >>> now to concerns al

right now, moderate rain pushing into the petaluma area. east bay, it's from antioch into bethel island, brentwood you have some light rain showers. discovery bay a little void of it right now but all of this is all the way into the concord, clayton and walnut creek. we are buying a break into the peninsula but in south city we see light rain and in the south bay, light rain is "pushhhhing" out of sunnyvale, cupertino and campbell making tracks towards downtown san jose into the rose garden district and in willow glen. all this activity is subtropical so it's not cold. it's very warm. very juicy. all this rain has been lifting out of the pacific ocean up in a northeast direction. it's wet at the golden gate bridge and definitely slippery when wet. temperatures are in the 50s and 60s. again, very mild out the door and as you get the kids ready for school doesn't have it layer them up. it's a moderate to light rainfall at this particular time. it looks like temperatures with the 50s and 60s, we do have that calm wind. this is the only thing t
