from the north bay near santa rosa, petaluma, novato. we are in the 80s. it's a warm day. it's beautiful if you ask me. along the peninsula, golden gate bridge, into san francisco, 70 degrees. we are hitting our daytime high right now as we speak. we head more south along 101 into areas like san jose and los gatos, 80s are expected and we crank up the heat more in inland areas. fairfield and brentwood, you are in the 90s. it's a nice warm day if you ask me. we do have the cold front moving in and temperatures will dip down a little bit more. i am talking a lot about this cold front but it doesn't need to be too scary. it's a dry one. temperatures are in the 90s today in inland areas. we will jump down to the 80s tomorrow and it averages a little bit into our wednesday and thursday forecast. it cools down a smudge more into our weekend set up. watch what happens as i pull up the bay. mind me, i am also getting used to this. here with go into the afternoon hours, 70s along the bay. it averages out halfway through the week and cools down nicely for the weekend. on the bright

there are a few 40s west of petaluma for a couple of mid 40s. they're also in the santa cruz mountains, petaluma itself at 51, but just to the west i did see about 46, 47. i think woodside's right at 50, but atherton, menlo park and stanford all at 51. los altos 52. we are running a little cooler than 24 hours ago for most, except for napa airport and half moon bay. but livermore is minus seven, santa rosa minus five. we had a much bigger fog bank yesterday, so we're under the clear skies. we've dip into the 40s for a few of a lot of low 50s, 39 south lake tahoe, mammoth at 36, truckee at 43. they were all in the 30s yesterday. there's just a series of these little lows kind of working their way in. keep us from warming up too much after an unseasonably cool weekend and as you know, there was a lot of rain, thunderstorms up in the mountains, northern california, not the case now. looks quiet here for the next 7 to 10 days. inland temps will begin to bump up. but the pattern, i mean, there's no sign of any extended heat for us or any offshore str

there was not much in terms of novato and petaluma but 2/10 of an inch in santa rosa. is there any more insight? not a whole lot. we do have some changes to our temperature pattern over the next several days. you see the roller coaster ride that we are in for as we look at the 10 day outlook for livermore with a couple days of near average temperatures and again on thursday. sharp drop for friday and saturday sitting on the side of normal for sunday, then we rise to the middle of next week. the drop in temperatures is accompanied by an outside chance of a couple of sprinkles or a passing shower. the chance of anything more than a trace is only in the 10 to 20% chance. probably the best chances right along the coast and maybe for the north bay, but even there i think you will see just passing clouds overhead and seeing cloud cover at ground level, the fog reforming along the coast as we look out to the west. temperatures drop into the 60s for most locations. we are going to see the marine layer re-establish itself, but the fog will not be all that widespread as we head

cooling off at a greater rate . 61 in napa but upper 50s in novato and down to the mid-50s already in petaluma and santa rosa were temperatures are more likely to dip to the low 50s. let's look at the low temperature forecast map, we will start off close to what is normal. that means 50s across the board. we started in the 60s because of the clouds. tomorrow morning back to typically cool temperatures. later, if you are headed out to the giants game, trying to keep hopes alive. gametime temperature should be in the mid-60s and gradually cooling down. we will try to keep hope alive for at least a couple more games. let's look at the forecast. starting with the northbay where temperatures will be close to what is typical. everybody on either side of 80. pleasantly warm and pleasantly mild. near 70 in san francisco with mid-70s in oakland. temperatures could be warmer down the peninsula in redwood city and cooler along the coast. 67 at half moon bay isn't bad at all. plenty of sunshine breaking through. in the valley, temperatures will be warm. mostly low 80s. temperatures inland, mostly low 80s.

we take a look back toward our communities in the north bay, temperatures through santa rosa and petalumaclimbing back up to right on the mark for average for this time of year. we have our monitor here . the most important tool to help us get a sense of how the temperatures will behave, plenty of sunshine. we will see that build back in in the overnight hours. it will fill in the bay and fill in much of the inland valleys as well. the only other thing that has been in our sky has been a little haze. if you have been noticing it and wondering it -- where it is coming from, there will be another plume of smoke coming off of those likely over the next three or four days, likely if not longer. we will probably pull in a little more smoke as it continues to do that. keep in mind you may be seeing a little bit of haze out there. that is the only thing. we will start off with our warmest microclimate. this is where we come to the coolest day. it will be over the weekend, saturday and sunday. we will see the temperatures take a dip from thursday and friday. we will stay down for monday and then

santa rosa. 65 petaluma at 66. that's a little chilly to start the day, but it did just check some sunshine breaking out there as we speak. looking about for 63 degrees out at the coast, partly cloudy skies there. 76 around the bay about 85 as you head inland. so these are really nice again, slightly below average temperatures, a little bit cloudy out at the coast. but than that, i think we'll see some good sunshine as far as the fan forecast goes over, taking a walnut creek where we should top out at about 85 degrees. so notice we're not going to have to crank these fans very high today should be just fine, leaving it on the low temperatures. so keep your eye on that high pressure that is down in parts of the southwest over texas, as you can see and kind of moving a little bit, just a tiny bit to the north as we get into tomorrow and we'll take you into your saturday. notice it gets a little closer to california. nothing extreme, very gradual. but by the time we get to sunoay, that's going to be about the peak of
