we made him aware of a bipartisan bill that was introduced this week by william hurd and pete aguilar which provides just very specific daca fix which is paired with some border security elements, which we think is the way to go. we need something that is narrow in scope that does not include issues in which we cannot agree on. i think overwhelmingly the majority in the house would pass that bill with strong republican support if it were allowed to come to the floor for a vote. i specifically asked the general that if we were allowed a vote in the hurd-aguilar bill passed the house, would that be something that the president would sign? he did not give a guarantee that the president would, although he reiterated that the president is committed to finding a solution for dreamers. in the past they have said, let congress figure it out. well, if congress passes this bill, will the president sign it? there was no indication. they didn't know what was in the bill. we tried to catch them up to speed and explain parts of the bill. there are further ongoing negotiations. hopefully, they will
