we have seen congressman pete sessions of texas drop out, that's what happens when you're the lowest. each round, one person continues to drop out. we do know that tom emmer, the current majority whip is the largely seen as the front-runner here. members are just kind of coming in and out as we stand outside of this door. so we'll wait and see if there is anyone who we need to talk to. but emmer is the person who is the top vote earner according to many of the members who have already come out followed by mike johnson and then byron donalds from florida. this tracks with how we expected this vote to break down at least on the first ballot. it will be interesting to see if donalds specifically can pull off some of the other support as members drop out. i know from talking to key parts of his whip operation that they do think that he might not be people's first choice, but that he could be a strong second choice as the field winnows. that's something i'm watching to see on this second ballot or third. but, again, all of this can end if someone in the room actually gets to a majority, a

pete sessions is interesting. that pushed out jodey arrington.gn chairman when they took back the house after big in the wilderness for decades in the 90's, rules committee chairman. he is an institutionalist and deeply conservative. austin scott who was obscure but was president of the freshman class and he moderated a bit. his stances are very conservative. he does not like the freedom caucus bomb throwing approach. he is focused on specific issues like farm bill and i think his candidacy is representative of that and he will put himself up there and make sure whoever gets the gavel will make commitments to get the farm bill across. jack bergman is relatively minor figure but has military experience in the marines. i put these people on the more moderate wing. byron donalds and would be historic being the first black republican speaker. these relave no. he was involved in crafting this government funding extension with an 8% cut. he has negotiated with the mainstream partnership folks. he's a very personable person. kevin heard is also very per
