peter ackerman joins me now. peter, your passion to give americans more choice.e to mound a third party candidacy in the third party election? >> if that candidate is going to run in all 50 states, it's too really too late. >> why? >> when you go out two months the ballot access deadline is completed for almost 40%, 50% of the country. the deadlines make it impractical. i imagine there are other considerations like money, whether you get on the debate stage? >> all of those considerations are very important. if you're not democrat or republican, you can only raise money in $2,700 increments. now that really means about $100 a person. the cost of getting on the ballot with everything associated with buying the significant drive professionals and the legal requirements is close to 8 million to 10 million. that means that you would have to visit with 80,000 people to have any chance of this happening. that's why no one in history who cannot self-fund the campaign has ever gotten on a ballot as individual candidate for president in all 50 states. >> what if there was
