i'm on the phone with peter ahearn, it is difficult oknow whether or not the situation has been stabilized because fort hood is saying their emergency services that they had an initial report that the shooter is dead but that is unconfirmed. so this may still be an active situation. quite frankly we just don't know right now, which is quite frankly that happens in situations like this. what do you make of that? >> well, you said it. it does happen. the confusion, the first response, trying to figure out where things are going on, sifting through misinformation from good information and trying to get a handle on things while you're trying to wait for the cavalry to arrive with other help with the local police and the fbi will get there and try to work with them to find where this shooter is and to neutralize the shooter as soon as possible. that is the critical thing right now. if they can't find him right away then you're going to go into a search situation which is going to be -- take a lot of time. because they also have to get people out of the lock down situation and get them safely ev
