stand by for me, i want to go to peter alexander. we know vice president-elect pence is at ground zero, which is the transition headquarters, trump tower, here in new york but in-fighting keeps leaking out when it comes to the national security team. what's the latest on that front? >> the latest is as a couple sources describe there's this stalin-esque purnge going on of people tied to governor chris christie. mike rodgers, a part of the transition process, had been overseeing the national security efforts going forward. he was a name who was considered a likely option as a potential cia director, but we are now told that he is no longer under krrgs for that. that he has been removed from the transition team. put out a steme earlier this day and now appears that the chairman of the house intelligence committee, the republican from california, devin nunez, may be the most likely name being floated right now as a potential head of intelligence. this is notable because, of course, chris christie's relationship with donald trump's son-i

peter alexander, peter, what have you gathered? >> reporter: brian, the ballroom is all dressed up for donald trump's arrival just a few hours from now. speaking a few minutes ago to a source close to donald trump describing what he describes as epic turnout in critical white republican counties, specifically focusing on states like michigan and new hampshire. the point that they are make right now is they are overperforming how well they were doing in those counties at this point four years ago. and they say there's so many people in those white republican counties who have yet to come home. they are also pointing out the fact that that lower than average african-american turnout in places like michigan and north carolina will benefit them. this source says to me that barack obama's coalition is simply not behind hillary clinton. to give you a sense of how they are brimming with confidence right now, this source, again, very close to donald trump, is guaranteeing wins in states like ohio, iowa, the second district of maine, north

joining me is peter alexander and kasie hunt awaiting clinton's first florida event in dade city. peter, why don't you recap the donald trump speech today? so far, has he mentioned the e-mail controversy which he was going after clinton about last night? >> he hasn't this morning. we were told he would be focused on the issue of, as he describes it, the disastrous obamacare premium hikes. at the same time he put out a tweet referring to hillary clinton's quote, bad judgment. the focus here has been on obamacare. he has one surrogate and they were side by side today. pence delivering the message about the fact they would get rid of the mandate suggesting that americans could buy insurance policies across state lines. he said he would take care of americans with pre-existing conditions. what's missing is the means to pay for this. that's the best in terms of solutions they have been providing today as donald trump repeatedly said the goal is to repeal and replace. looking for more meat on the bone in terms of what the replacement would look like. >> that's a base shaping message as w

starting with peter alexander live in king of prussia where donald trump wrapped up the speech. what stood out on the policy side. this was all about trying to keep up attacks on the hillary clinton law. >> perhaps one of the best sound bites was from donald trump who said americans can trust hillary clinton with health care the same way we can trust her with classified information. that got a standing ovation here. this is a point they were trying to make. as you played in the clip they were going after obamacare, suggesting not only does it have to be repealed but replaced. trying to provide a sense of what it might look like saying they will care for people who have pre-existing conditions, how they will pay for that remains to be seen. what was notable today is they will be spending $25 million. in fact, the first release didn't include this state of pennsylvania. they are down by 11 points in one of the recent polls. they said they will be advertising here as well. hitting states like michigan and new mexico. let's be clear. those are democratic strong holds. democratic lea
