joining us now democratic political strategist peter fenn. and republican strategist jim innocenzi. i want to start with west virginia. these ads, sometimes the candidates get overzealous. this first one, we'll look at it. this is an ad with governor mansion. and i'm going to ask you, is this questionable oro kay, what he's doing. you see him here with the rifle and the point being he's going to take aim at the issues and the tough talking. and my question, peter, for you, is this a good thing or a bad thing? and must we also consider the state, regardless of the party? >> you obviously do have to consider the state. this is a state right now that is not in very good shape for the president. his popularity there is one of the lowest of all of the states. the one issue that he's taking aim at, and he evidently hit, is the sign on cap and trade, saying he's going to be against cap and trade. he's trying to translate his popularity as governor to that he's going to take on washington and be an independent voice. he's not going to be a rubber stamp. jim has been pushing that pretty hard
