peter: a third of the delegates for the democrats were in play. bernie sanders and hillary clinton split. hillary clinton did better. on the gop side, half the delegates were at stake. president trump won on super tuesday -- alabama, arkansas, georgia, three southern states. massachusetts, tennessee , southern, vermont and virginia another southern state. carl: the decisive state was florida. that was marco rubio's last stand. his alamo as it turned out. he was driven from the race. donald trump has a place down there, but he was not a floridian. and he won in florida and essentially ended it. by winning in florida. peter: ted cruz that same night in 2016 won alaska, oklahoma, and texas. while marco rubio won minnesota. carl: he won a minnesota caucus. but you can win a bar bet. there's state he won a primary in. here's a hint. it is not a state. peter: american samoa. carl: puerto rico. my son lives in puerto rico and i talked to my bosses into saying this puerto rico thing is important to rubio. so i went down and covered it. he won, but it was not important to him. peter
