our rapid response panel, david kay jorn johnson and professor of economics at the university of maryland, great to have you with us. petermember you and i having conversations in green room in minneapolis, a little down in the mouth on the economy at the time, back in 2009. what has happened, peter? tell us from a conservative standpoint what has happened. how good and how bad is this economy? >> until now the obama recovery has been about the same pace as the bush recovery. if we suck the influence of a very cold winter, things are getting better. things are starting to thaw. we really haven't had the kind of jobs growth that we need but at least it's been stable. if we look at what happened between 1980 and 2000, it was much more rapid. but at least things are starting to get better. i think if we continue to recover, now the obama recovery will have a quicker pace than the bush recovery. it will be in the upper twos. it's not the 4% that we need but let's face it, things are getting better. i have to concede you that tonight. >> all right, please concede that these consecutive numbers of job growth in months has never
