peter king is on the house intelligence committee.s been one of the most outspoken on this issue demanding transparency. good to see you, sir. you've had a chance to read the e-mails. are you satisfied these are the answers that you need and that they have given all the information? >> first of all they haven't given all the information. there are thousands of pages of e-mails. even allowing just for these 100 pages, to me this makes it clear in the final result, these were not cia talking points. for instance, on page 61, you have the cia public affairs office saying we revised the talking points because of state department concerns. the changes were made because the state department, not because of what the cia wanted to do. and page 95, the director of the cia saying i just as soon not use this. the director of the cia would rather not even use the talking points. he said in the end it's the final call of the national security council. these were not a cia product. they were revised dramatically. and also, as you mentioned before,

congressman peter king was on your show earlier and he urged caution. >> i have real concerns. gone by and to, unfortunately, to a large extent al qaeda elements have a lot of control within the rebel movement. my concern is by arming the rebels, we could be strengthening al qaeda. whatever arming we do, and obviously assad is evil and it's in everyone's interest he go. we have to make sure the arms are not going to end up in the position of al qaeda supporters. nor should al qaeda be in position to take over this movement. >> are we closer to what president obama said would be the quote/unquote game changer to get involved in syria? will there be pressure for the u.s. to get involved? >> on the game changer, that was the use of chemical weapons by syrian president bashar assad. that the u.s. believes has happened. the response from the u.s. from the obama administration has been, we're still looking at it. we're not completely sure of the intelligence whether it is true that there has been some use of chemical weapons, but their first move is going to be toward gathering up a

what do you think of peter king lays out there?bill, i happen to share his point of view for several reasons. one, peter is on the intelligence committee so i suspect he may have have a little more information than is available to either one of us but there are some other factual circumstances that could lead one to the same conclusion. remember they discovered a cachet of weapons several hundred rounds of ammunition, almost a mini bomb factory there shortly after the bombing. one could also recall that, they referred to the "inspire" magazine as, giving directions with regard to construction of these bombs but it did not have instructions or use a fairly sophisticated device, remote control. then finally he is in russia and dagestan, for six months the eller brother. doubtful he was sightseeing and spending that much time with his family. so there is a lot of things that point to either assistance here in the united states or indoctrination or training overseas. bill: he went further to say that the fbi failed on a number of front

with me is congressman peter king, member of the homeland security committee.k you for joining me. what is your reaction to the president's speech today? >> piers, basically i agree with a lot of what the president's done in recent years but the tone of today's speech i thought was wrong. for instance, he's really declaring almost the end of the war against terrorism long before it's over. in many ways, al qaeda is more dangerous now than it was prior to september 11th. for him to be stepping back and saying he's going to be somehow reducing the level of drone attacks, that he's going to be releasing more prisoners from guantanamo, when already we released basically anyone who could be released has been. what's held back now are the worst of the worst and 30% of those we've released up til now have come back against us. i just think the tone of it was wrong. also, piers, maybe i'm saying this from a patriotic instinct or whatever. when i hear the president of the united states talk about torture and his own men and women who really are sacrificing, doing what h

we look back prior to the bombing itself, i'm sure the chairman and others will dive into this, peter king and others. we need some answers. >> i do want to knock down one thing, at least the saudis are denying having any knowledge of tamerlan prior to the boston bombings. there's also a denial from intelligence agencies they had any warning in saudi arabia. just to put that one report out of loaned been to rest. >> and this is why we have to have hearings and ask some people on the record to help clarify this for us. >> i want to also ask you about guantanamo, congressman. the president was very forceful yesterday about saying he wants to engage congress, but it's not clear what can be reengaged. congress has voted repeatedly to prevent prisoners from being transferred to the united states for trial, being brought here for the construction of any super-max prison which was proposed, as you know back in illinois, and also congressional mandates not to transfer even the 86 who had been pre-cleared by all of our intelligence agencies to go back to mostly yemen, to absent a waiver. where do w

honestly thing this is peter king, who's a passionate advocate for his district and his outspoken voiceid to new york particularly saying he doesn't care to be with ted cruz. on the flip side this is the state party chairman looking to raise funds. ted cruz is a rising star and a person of a lot of interest. he's doing a fund-raiser in new york. this isn't endemic of any kind of problem other than to say there are a lot of really great voices in our party who are going to have the opportunity to express their views over the next couple of years. we've a deep bench of potential candidates running in 2016 who represent a lot of perspectives and obviously senator cruz will have a voice in that debate if he chososes to do so. >> our own joe scarborough had this to say in a political op- d op-ed. joe said with his push to the far right, marco rubio risks being more popular with cauc caucus-goers in western iowa than his own home state. is rubio a real contender in 2016? >> look. if senator rubio chose to run for president, he's be a very, very serious contender and i can tell you with some d

congressman peter king of new york pushed for more surveillance cameras like the ones used in parts ofw york city. do you support surveillance cameras in philadelphia? >> absolutely. extensive surveillance camera network both those owned and a operated by the city. we have our safe cam program where we encourage private entities. think about what happened in boston. i think that was lord & taylor, the company, who had the best video of these two individuals who were involved. so, the combination of public, private, those kind of partnerships. allowing the police to tie into private sector camera networks. expands your ability to see what is really going on across the city and absolutely i support that. >> i want to ask you on the issue of guns now, if we can very quickly. your city's murder rate is down significantly in the last four months compared to last year. great progress for you. you did that by focusing on high crime areas and prevention programs also play a role. doesn't the success you have reinforce the altogethrgument t solution is not more gun laws but tougher enforcement
