peter warfield. we're very concerned -- thank you very much for the presentation. it looked like a tremendously carefully worked out and researched presentation. we're concerned with library service, libraries are serving everything in the city and youth. earlier today we talked about some issues we have with library accessibility to folks who are in minorities, who are folks -- older folks for that matter and those with english language lack of proficiency and those all the folks who have less access to computers and the internet. when you go to the library, the home page talks about -- it has links to major things like facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube. not any warnings about what the privacy issues there are. we heard for example, students selling information about its users to facebook. we are concerned in a tech week program that library had where a signup for a class aimed at teens, required the following fields. first name, last name, preferred name, phone number, e-mail, student date of birth. then for the parent or guardian, first name, last name, e-ma

>> yes, this is peter warfield, executive director of library users association, libraryusers2004@yahoo.comwas a good week for improved access to meetings by everyone. last week, [inaudible] violated open government law in two ways. first, by not providing public comment to library users association last summer, in july 2020, about the library's reopening plans, and second, by providing a phone number that was not free that could cost a san francisco phone user 59 cents a minute plus tax. library users association is proud to have brought this successful complaint and thanks the sunshine ordinance task force for their 9-1 vote in our favor. we are hopeful that our action will help improve access to remote public meetings both at the library and also citywide and beyond. for everyone and especially for those who do not have access to the internet from home, and whoever are without access to the internet from home, they are the marginalized communities. that is according to a recent city report that we've referenced repeatedly here and elsewhere, and these are the people who are the most stro
