miah peterson and you can see a number of 1.29%.if the number goes a small amount above 1.0, you can actually have epidemic growth of infections. this focuses on hospitalization census and you can see there that the first arrow pointing to june 1. that's a simulation saying as we begin to lift shelter in place, we have more activity and the reproductive number goes up and you can see four weeks later, you can see how the hospitalization curve starts to go up. and so, it's really critical to realize how vulnerable we are. so we don't see ourselves -- you cannot see whether you're getting into trouble until at least two four weeks after you've done an intervention or loosening things up. next slide, please. so i gave you back to the rationale of why the interval needs to be four weeks. the state has taken what they're calling the resilience roadmap and call it into four stages. stage one was really about getting ready, and we're currently in stage two is stage two is about opening up lower-risk workplaces and stage three is opening up

peterson. this is, you know, data that is projecting into the future.bviously, we don't have data into the future. so i just want to make sure that everybody understands that this is a model. but it really shows what could happen if the reproductive rate goes to 1.1%. you will notice on the y axis here that these are the number of covid-19 patients in the hospital over time. so this is based on being at .94 right now. and then shelter-in-place being lifted on may 15th. now it wasn't lifted, just to be clear. it's been -- there's been more activity allowed so it's not as though shelter-in-place was lifted. but the key point here is that the reproductive rate just increases by 20%, which is not a lot. from .94 to 1.1. and the reproductive rate of this virus is very high. so it's somewhere in the range of 3%. so if nothing happened and every person infected would pass the virus on to three people. so a reproductive rate of 1.1% is pushing the virus down to, you know, three times lower than it would otherwise propagate. so that still takes a lot of control.

interesting to see what they do if we have a season when it starts we already have players like adrian peterson running back for the redskins came out and said he was he said we will all be kneeling during the anthem now so i'll see we'll see what happens and of course the president noted states will be there too and anybody who hates black after you know what interests in the enough around midnight last night his favorite timelessly get on their knees i think that it's. so i don't get. to go on but donald trump the president of the united states did come out on twitter last night and say could it be even remotely possible that in roger goodell's rather interesting statement of peace and reconciliation he was intimating that it would now be ok for the players to kneel or not stand for the national anthem thereby disrespecting the country and our flag which we all know it's not about that but he's trying to change an energy you know what trump hates more than kaepernick the n.f.l. and that goes back a long way when the n.f.l. said no you can't have a team and we don't want you anywhere near this
