normally pg & e electricity rates are set every year on january 1. before this occurs, they typically issue a decision in december in a proceeding called the energy resource recovery account. we call that era. that decision was delayed this year and as a result that has delayed pg & e's implementation of the electricity rates. the delay is affecting the implementation of pg & e's generation rates and exit fee, the power charge and difference adjustment that cca participating customers must pay pay. they issued a decision yesterday. so as a result, we're now anticipating that the new pg & e exit fees and generation rates will take effect on either apri. pg & e is expected to file rates with the california puc towards the end of march. they have 30 days from the day of the decision, indicating the specific effective date of the rates and we've heard april or may and that's what we're looking at. at that time, the sf puc will finalize clean power rates per the rate action taken on december 11 and approved by the board of supervisors following the rate h

going forward and given where the state of pg&e is now, in bankruptcy, what is the role of pg&e at this point? >> joining me today is the pg&e program manager who manages their manufactured gas plant program. >> commissioner woo ho: are they taking the primary role in the remediation effort? we need to understand what's going to happen as current state of pg&e changing and timing and planning, etcetera. >> good evening commissioners. i'm with the environmental remediation program at pg&e. everybody in this room is aware on january 29th, we did file for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to some potential liabilities associated with wildfires. what you probably are not aware of on that same day, we filed first-day motions as part of that procedure. that included such things as continuing with our environmental program for those projects that have recovery mechanisms in place. these projects that we're talking about fit into that bucket. >> commissioner woo ho: what's going to happen between now and the year? >> lot of engineering studies to figure out what the right way to approach the

for the exit fee pg&e charges.l continue to keep an eye out for impacts there and report to you. that brings us to pg&e's bankruptcy filing and impact on clean power sf operations. you've probably seen all the coverage. it's been pretty extensive. pg&e filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy on january 29th. we indicated to you at our last meeting that a possible impact to clean power sf, if pg&e filed for bankruptcy, would be a delay in revenue remittances from pg&e to us. so remember that when you're a clean power sf customer under state law pg&e handles the billing which means the customer receives a bill from pg&e, they pay them and pg&e passes the portion of the payment that belongs to us on to us. so pg&e did with bankruptcy interrupt the remittances, so we stopped receiving our share of the revenue from customers from pg&e when it filed for bankruptcy. however, as they had indicated and as we had worked with them prior to the bankruptcy filing, pg&e requested that the court authorize it to continue making its paymen

pg&e -- about $300 million a year it is going to pg&e to do energy efficiency work. san francisco grabs some of that money from pg&e and from the utility itself, and i'm going to talk about that, it's $6 million, because it's understand to talk about it to understand what's in our purview going forward. the first plan that san francisco put in place is called energy watch. it's called a local government partnership. that's a formal cpuc speak for many that comes to local governments through pg&e. so pg&e controls their $300 million, and some of it they give to local governments to do energy efficiency work. we get about $3 million a year to do energy work in san francisco. we focus that money on small-medium businesses, some large businesses that pg&e doesn't want to deal with, and also, multifamily. so we're looking at what pg&e's doing on efficiency and we're filling in the maps. this is a map of the 8,000 projects that we've had in place since 2006 using these perks for energy watch. that's an amazing map. that's a map showing that our team of energy efficiency ex
