they are calling out pg&e's response time. menlo park is holding an emergency council meeting as we speak. assembly member mark berman also tweeted the pg&e failed miserably in communicating with his customers. and this from state senator josh becker , quote, my staff has made many calls to them and spoken to residents without heat, including his own. he says we must do better. now pg&e did tweet an apology for the long delay , again, citing complications with the one-to-one closure. but still, after 48 hours with no firm timeline on when the power will come back on, because restraining that line over the highway that we saw happening today is only one step in the process. also important to note, if you live in menlo park, the city is offering free hotel rooms for tonight, but you have to call the city manager's office by 8:00 p.m. that number is on their website, menlo park.gov. >> called that number! we have less than two hours. get on that. >>> it has been four days since a massive fire destroyed the historic first ame chur

here's a look at the pg outage map. as you can see the red splotches there in east oakland getting smaller. this is a big improvement from what people were dealing with earlier today. the last update from pg said about 30,000 customers were still without power. and for some people, unfortunately, their power will be out until about one or 2 o'clock in the morning. >> power was restored to alameda sometime after 5 o'clock this evening. alameda power officials saying there was an issue with a pg e transmission line. it left the posey and webster tubes is the only ways in our out of alameda for much of the afternoon. you can see there carl's cars piled up, trying to get over the park street bridge earlier today. a lot of businesses have to just shut down for the day. they were unable to operate without power. others, though, try to work through the outage. >> i originally thought i believe the good news because i was mixing what was going on that i for sunday like it's kind of chaotic busier days. most people come here for
