they are glad that pg&e will be replacing the type lines to their homes. it will take almost a year to complete. the word plastic and other markings spray painted show where pg&e pipelines exist underground. they remove 1200 miles of the plastic pipes around the region. even the company that makes the pipe said these pipes are prone to cracking and sudden failure. it appears that happened on august 31st. >> for could happen somewhere else. >> his mother lives across the street from a condo that explode when a plastic pipeline sprung a leak, filling the inside with gas and igniting it. the owner was not home. >> it was nice to have it removed since we have the major explosion right here so it gets home closer. >> they plan to replace 6,000 feet with an all new system and a meeting with homeowners, pge said they will put the lines further away from the condos. now, the pg&e engineers said they were not allowed to talk so a spokesperson called me back a few minutes ago and gave me answers as to why the pipes were not replaced when du pont put out the warning
