. >> this year in san francisco, suzanne phan. abc seven news. >> that is thirsty work. they do. we appreciate it. well, the santa cruz wharf is set to reopen much sooner than people anticipated. there will be a celebration at 10 a.m. tomorrow to welcome visitors back. 20 businesses on the pier were busy getting ready for that today, and someone from the community returned. the wharf's 100 year anniversary plaque. it went missing among the debris when part of the pier collapsed a week and a half ago. santa cruz parks and rec is encouraging the public to return any other artifacts to their office that may wash up, and that section of the pier came down to the wharf, came down because of a rough surf, and we still have some rough surf out there. meteorologist sandhya patel is tracking that for sandhya. >> yeah, dan, this is the time of year when you do need to watch out. especially if you're going to go check out those waves. and they're definitely one of those situations where you want to go see them, but see them from far away. i do want to talk about the first tornado of 2025. g
