we've had multiple days of 100 plus heat in the dallas area, the austin area of phenix, phenix 104. this heat is going to hang on through the next 24 to 48 hours. so it continues to be a problem out there. of course, you've got millions of people in the way of this heat dome, which is staying put. they wish they had that big marine layer that we have offshore. we've got a bunch of it. it's because there's little trough that's come in. you can say dipping down right here stretches out the marine layer and you'll see it here in this shot. you can see the fog coming in over the hill, san bruno gap. it looks like it's around 30, 30, 13, 1400 feet. it'll be a little deeper tonight. and it's pushing well inland. that's why our fire danger has been minimized because of this cool, moist flow and that pattern, that trough. i showed you, the red loop. that's sticks around for a little while. and with that sticking around, we're going to continue with these temperatures that are trending certainly down from where they were over the weekend. you can see the numbers drop in here, tuesday, wednes

some monsoon moisture finally arrived into phenix while scottsdale in phenix las vegas 85. palm springs 87. truckee 48. they made it to 3751. south lake tahoe. it does look like a little uptick in moisture for the weekend. if you're going to the mountains. 62, though, sacramento and that's a big fog bank. all the noticeable holes in it for about oakland south just patchy but north of that we're in county san pablo bay sonoma county napa that's a good surge on fog and low cloud. so they'll drop considerably on those temps. a couple of items, one north, one south. these systems moving in have knocked down the high pressure system. so a cooler pattern it wants to build back in not that fast, but it wants to build back in. but the fog returns cooler breezy to windy and the heat is over for now. but the drizzle is not and i think we'll get some pretty good amounts here next couple of nights and mornings here along the coast and some of the higher elevations as well. some tropical moisture might play in to our forecast, maybe santa clara valley, santa cruz mountains late thursday
