we have fox team coverage, phil keating is in key largo, florida. we're going to start with meteorologist adam klotz tracking the twin storms. adam. >> hey, arthel. yeah, a very unique system is what we're looking at right now. marco is a little closer, nearly a hurricane right now, winds at 70 miles an hour, spinning in the gulf of mexico. likely making landfall by tomorrow afternoon so this has sped up from some of the original forecasts. there's the track running up along the louisiana coast. what you're going to see is ultimately both of these storms are at least potentially going to be making landfall in a similar location. that could be a big problem. jumping to tropical storm laura, spinning over haiti. this one going to take a little longer but ultimately running to a similar location. so once it runs over some of the tropical islands it gets into the gulf of mexico, able to heat up and warm up very quickly and suddenly you see a path that is running up along the gulf coast so louisiana, possibly getting up to a category 2 storm. this is the

two-month mission in space and over on the other side of florida, in cape canaveral, is where phil keating is standing by with more. phil. >> reporter: hey, eric. absolutely historic and amazing, what an accomplishment for spacex and its partner ship with nasa to have the first private space company, not only launch astronauts in a capsule into space, but also to have that capsule perform pretty much flawlessly for the whole mission and then splashing down today in winds that were two and-a-half miles an hour and water described as glass in the gulf of mexico. so the tropical storm over here in the atlantic had absolutely no impact, so four big parachutes deployed at about 6,000 feet to help slow it down. it was coming down at about 350 miles an hour, when it was 18,000 feet up. but then when it splashed down it was going slowly, about 17 miles an hour. and bob behnken, the astronaut, and doug hurley, were inside the capsule the whole time for about 17 hours after undocking from the space station last night around 7:30 eastern. after they launched, hurley and behnken, they spent about two

phil keating is live with the latest on covid-19 hot spots around the country. morning as well. after a surging month of june and covid cases spiking into july, it is starting to really appear that florida finally may be rounding that big corner. sunday, yesterday, the state's best day in nearly two months as far as new coronavirus cases. best as in the lowest number of new totals under 4,000. remember, a month ago florida was hitting 10,000 and higher every day. the test positivity rate yesterday of all testing was under 8%. making eight of the past 10 days that it's been under 10% which is critical to reopening the economy further as well as schools. another promising sign especially in the state's coronavirus hot spite miami jackson medical center reports the number of people admitted with it is half of what it was just a few weeks ago. back when icus were maxed out above capacity. school, of course, on the minds of so many parents, teachers and kids across the country two elementary classrooms are in quarantine after reopening last week. teachers in arizona
