joining me now to talk about this more is phil matier. always great to see you. are these numbers accurate? >>>> it is about as close as we are going to get. it is people going out there and seeing what is on the ground as opposed to estimates about seeing how many people are applying for programs and such. it shows us a few things that are interesting as far as where the growth is going and where the decline is. overall, it is a mixed bag. it is not as bad as people thought it was going to be with covid. but it is bad to it shows little signs of letting up. >> it is still terrible. 10,000 in couple of counties at least. a lot of people think the problem is worse in san francisco. according to this count, that is not the case. alameda and contra costa county are going up significantly. 22% and 35% respectively. did homeless folks head across the bay and the east bay? >> they did not but homeless folks did appear appearing more and more in the east bay. one of the differences is in the east bay, a lot of people are living in their cars. that is obvious. they are p
