we just talked with captain george fukes of the philadelphia police department. i'll move out of the way. this investigation continues on frankford avenue, the 6600 block. police just said that the initial stop for this white charger that's parked out here, the suspect's vehicle, was due to a traffic violation, although they won't say what the traffic violation was or if this could have possibly been part of another investigation into a crime, an alleged crime. but they say the initial stop was for a traffic violation and that the suspect had a gun inside the car. as a matter of fact, they say there is a gun in between the center console and the passenger's seat. you can see the butt end of the gun sticking up, still inside the vehicle right now. two officers responded, both in uniform. these are two rookie cops. that's how they're described. and we talked earlier about how this district received an influx of about 30 officers during this past year to help with response times to crime. i'm also told that the suspect is a 26-year-old man. he has a criminal history
