and council member philippe cunningham said the language in the pledge was up for interpretation, its somewhat ambiguous to him, it turns out, as he eats his words. cunningham, by the way -- there is philippe -- one of three minneapolis council members who hired taxpayer-funded private security details at the cost of $4500 a day. hey, philippe, pretty cool, huh? and city council president lisa bender added she believed the pledge created confusion in the community. she looks like she'd be worried about confusion in the community. wow. bender told cnn back in june that the fear of not having the police to call upon comes from a place of, are you ready? privilege. a place of privilege. well, joining us tonight is larry eller, host of the larry elder show on the salem radio network, executive producer of the documentary "uncle tom: an oral history of the american black conservative." great to have you with us, larry. let's start with that city council and that -- [laughter] that gathering of whatever they are. i mean, minneapolis couldn't do better than that for a city council? really?
