. >> in antioch, philippe djegal, all kron. 4 news. >> the san francisco police department is no longer under state oversight. the 8 year long supervision from the california department of justice began in 2018 when it found that sfpd had outdated use-of-force policies and lacked accountability. according to today's report, the police department implemented 263 of 272 reforms. the remaining 9 are in progress. the end of this oversight com says daniel lurie is set to take over san francisco's mayor tomorrow. and the city is announcing today a 20 year low in major crimes. and according to the city's reported 2024, property crime was down. 31 1% from 2023 while violent crime went down, 14%. homicides reached a 60 year low with only 35 murders, car break-ins down. 54 1% coming in at just under 10,000 cars. that's the first time in about 15 years. we've seen that number. the city says it was able to reach these numbers by using new tools, including the addition of drones, drug market interventions and strengthening partnerships with different law enforcement agencies. and coming up today at

philippe djegal all kron. 4 news. >> 7.37. the time in san francisco.warning now about a recent scam that targets the city's chinese community. police say the people you see on your screen here are some of the suspects they're looking for. this is called a blessing scam. police say scammers tell victims they can provide relief from a curse or illness affecting a family member. if they just put their money and valuables into a bag to be blessed. the scammers then switch out the valuables and tell the victims to open that bag later in order for the blessing to work, according to officers, roughly $374,000 in valuables have been stolen. now in recent months because of this scam. major commuter highway in sonoma county could soon be seeing some big changes. caltrans is pitching a new plan to basically change highway 37, maybe raise it a little bit in some parts. this runs near mare island in vallejo, and it's prone to flooding and congestion. officials are proposing to replace part of the road that runs over to lake creek and maybe add some new lanes in bot
