we have enjoyed tremendously the ability to link with the philippines. we have generated thousands of jobs, both in the philippines and in san francisco. we have donated thousands of dollars to various events, such as the cleanup of the river, the symphony of the philippine cultural center, and the list goes on and on. we would not have been able to do that without being partners with the philippine consulate general. we have a delegation of police officer -- police officers in that philippines -- the philippines.is a goodwill mission and we take a delegation from the philippines and return later in the year. our community relations participated in a teleconference with occ regarding lapd training and updates. we were recruiting at the vallejo job fair. monday will have our second visit out to washington high school. a group including the deputy chief from their fire department and a commander beale, myself on the importance of staying in high school graduation. a better chance for opportunities and better chance to go on to college. the reason we're going as we joined the police department and or the fire department when we had our high school diplomas and we are doing ok. the first time we went it was well received and we were asked back. we are hoping to grow the city wide on top of the grammar school visits we're doing, and biting the young ones into the station so they see what the police are all about. we demystify that. again i spoke to the visitors. we are close to the final product on

when i return to the philippines, i learned my cousin, who murdered my mother and sister, and almost killed me as well, was released from prison after serving only 10- year sentence. i feared for my safety and i knew i was in danger and understood in order to meet, but -- to live, i have to leave the philippines to jay, where i would feel safe. i hired an attorney to apply for legal asylum. my application was denied, so my attorney filed an appeal to the ninth circuit court, and jay and i requested and a regular basis on theúagr status of the appeal. again and again we were told that it would take a long time before the court gets to my case. i did not know it, but my appeal had also been denied. my attorney never told me. all the while, we thought i was legal in we were waiting for the decision of the court. jay and i went about building our lives together. i gave birth to my two kids. they are the biggest joy in our lives, and i became a full-time mother. our family has always been like every american family, and i am so proud of jay and the twins. the boys attended catholic school
