philip: lurking in the background of a lot of these remarks, i feel like is the changed media environment that congressman operate in. we would be remiss in talking about the 118th congress if we did not mention matt gaetz. he on the right, along with alexandria ocasio-cortez on the left, have pioneered a new model of becoming a member of congress and using that as a jumping off point to become a social media superstar. it was making an hour and a half long podcast every day, holding forth, and lo and behold, he toppled the speaker. he became the first member in the history of congress to do that. now he easily won reelection in his district but he quit, of course, because he was getting appointed attorney general. that did not work out for him. he made a lot of enemies in congress, to say the least. frankly, he is not going to be too started to be in congress anymore because he launched -- he has got his millions of followers now. he is the firebrand. what is example that says for other ambitious members because matt gaetz did not spend his eight years in congress trying to be a legislator. i do think that sets us up -- i sympathize with the young ambitious members. i t
