noon to 8:00 p.m., heavier snow but mixing from philly south and east. blizzard conditions in parts of the area possible and then 8:00 p.m. stoord sunday morning the snow is tapering off but the wind is not tapering off. it could be every bit as windy sunday morning as it is during the day saturday. the blizzard watch goes from the philadelphia i-95 corridor all the way down into central delaware and a good bit of south jersey. winter storm watch surrounding that. so the wind is not expected to be as strong farther away from philly and we're not expecting as much snow in cape may county and southern delaware. now we are expecting high tides. major coastal flooding. these areas in green will get into more detail with that as we get closer to this storm. but there's the potential for more than a three foot storm surge in parts of cape may and atlantic counties. and that's pretty serious. there will be flooding, damage, beach erosion. here's the storm in two pieces right now. it's going to come together and then really intensify. starts off as an ice storm

yeah, even dogs are wearing coats in south philly today. it what's ahead for the weekend that we begin with tonight. as we said, some counties in our area bracing for more than a foot of snow. nbc 10 first alert meteorologist sheena parveen is here. this isn't a quick storm, is it? >> no, it is not a quick storm. it's going to last friday night through potentially saturday night. and maybe even into early sunday morning. so we are talking about a lot of snow with this. snowfall forecast for the area. this will be getting updated as we go into tomorrow and friday. computer models coming out over the next 48 hours that will be watching with this. as we go into parts of northern delaware and new jersey areas like chester county, we could see 14 inches or more through the time frame of friday night through saturday possibly 10 inches or more, philadelphia up to trenton. and maybe 6 inches or more into lehigh valley though the snow is going to start to cut off closer to the poconos. so that's where the lower amounts would be. so this is somethin
