the action cam outside the home on the 200 block of east philomena street. witness told police that the 33-year-old man broke through a basement window to get to the witness' second floor bedroom. the witness said the 54-year-old homeowner saw the suspect and confronted him. that's when the suspect stabbed the homeowner in the neck and back and then ran off. officers found a trail of blood from the basement window to the second floor, then outside the house and down the street but so far there are no arrests. >>> also new this morning, investigators say a philadelphia police officer opened fire on a suspect late last night. the incident happened on the 5700 block of crittendon street. police say officers were running after two armed suspects when one of the suspects turned towards the officers and pointed a gun at them. one of the officers then fired his gun at gunman apparently missing him. the suspect managed to run off a swat team and canine units are looking for them. >> more developing news. the nation's top doctors are scrambling this morning to deal w
