it's really pushing this grove into overtime, especially for chardonnay and pignot. it's crunch time in sonoma and napa. as storm clouds roll in, rollers work up their steves -- sleeves picking what they can before the rain hits. >> right now, everybody is absolutely going as fast as they can. >> reporter: ned hill and his crews have been working nonstop for the past seven days. we average mr.-- we average about four hours of sleep a night. we're scrambling. they pick up by by -- they pick by machine and hunt. if not, there is a chance for fundus gus, for those who are not picked in time. >> we're gonna completely open them up to make sure they are 100% exposed to the wind. >> reporter: the crop is about 30%, 40% smaller than usual due to the weather. but there is good news. >> it will be lower in alcohol and a little more french style. >> reporter: does that mean more navelful -- flavorful? >> yes. >> reporter: again, rains are expected this afternoon. it will tail off on tuesday and come back on thursday. coming up at 5:00, ken pritchett will have more on this. liv
