we got this report. 12,579 votes went to katie hobbs in this update from pima county tonight. lake got 7,110 votes. katie hobbs got 64% of this pima vote batch compared to kari lake's 36%. by the way, you see here katie hobbs is winning the county 60-40. this latest vote batch she did 64-36. what our decision desk did after these votes came in, they recalculated the outstanding vote in arizona now. how many votes in arizona are outstanding statewide after this vote came in? we think about 375,000 votes remain outstanding in arizona. here's what's key to watch, these percentages. kari lake now needs between a range of 54 to 56% of the outstanding vote statewide to win the race. katie hobbs needs a smaller percentage, she needs in the range of 44 to 46%. as you could see here in this last vote batch, kari lake is nowhere near getting that kind of level she needs to win this race. just a reminder as i pull out statewide in arizona, right now kari lake has 49% of the vote. she needs to significantly increase her performance with the rest of the votes we see coming in from arizona

them there's still some vote to come from pima county, that strongly democratic party. is 60% of the vote in arizona. and this was the last giant pile of votes from maricopa county. and it leads katie hobbs in the lead here of 20,000. puts this in some context, joe biden won the state narrowly in the 2020 presidential election. this is more than twice the margin joe biden had just in raw vote. joe biden's number ended up under just 10,000 in arizona. hobbs's lead is over 20,000. so for kari lake, she was looking forward -- this is been the story for the past several nights as we've been going through a very particular type of ballot in maricopa county. mail-in ballots that voters brought into the polls on election day in maricopa county there are nearly 300,000 of them. republicans were pointing to it all week, first in the senate, race then in the governor's race saying this is going to be a republican friendly batch of votes. once you start going through those, republicans are gonna make up, down they're gonna take the lead statewide that's what they said in 2020, it

maricopa is by far the largest county, pima is the second. is the fifth populationwise of the 15 counties in arizona. but if you're blake masters, you need every vote from everyplace you can get it. now it doesn't mean the next one will come in that way from another place. but if you're looking at every senate number that comes in, if you're masters, you need to exceed your goal, and in this case you did not. i want to switch to the governor's race and bring this down as well here. this is just the yuma county numbers. this is katie hobbs, the democratic candidate, 3774 to 4052. you can grab your calculator and check us at home. this is 48%. we're rounding here. and this is 52%. so here remember blake masters just underperformed. here the republican candidate is coming in ahead, but so far in the county she's been getting 56% to 43%. so it's below what you're performing. if you want to come back to the statewide numbers, katie hobbs is 26,646 ahead. so she, quote, unquote, loses here but not by a dramatic amount. so the question is, is it eno

so mark kelly was getting 62% in pima county in this new batch, 15,000 votes, a little shy of that, 69%. he's doing better than what he needs to do to keep his lead. blake masters, 31%, that's less than he had. so this particular batch, that doesn't guarantee it continues or he won't do well in the next one, but still a lot of votes to count as she just told us. every batch that comes in meaning the universe of possibility shrinks and this is not enough for blake masters. it's simply not enough. he's going to wrong direction in that particular batch. >> these new numbers we got are not necessarily part of the total statewide numbers. >> they're not because she was giving them to us live first and then they get reported to the state and then our data people double check and triple check. >> his lead has now gone up. it's more than 109,000. >> it will go up by the math if you do it. if you're at 52, you round that up, versus 46, you just need to stay -- if mark kelly stays above 50%, he wins. so this is, again, the biggest bunch is still in maricopa county, but the second batch is in pima

we've seen that grow now over the last two nights, as the were outstanding early vote from pima county and maricopa county in particular continuing to come in. kelly's lead over masters now sits over 100,000. the other major development we are waiting on in arizona tonight is the release of the early votes from maricopa county. that's the biggie in the state. he said there was probably gonna be last night's release. last night, they put out 62,000 new votes. expect something in that neighborhood. it will be between ten and 11:00 east coast time. we are expecting to get that. again, it's early vote. it's voters from on monday. that batch last night favored kelly in maricopa county from double digits. the name of the game for democrats and kelly is they expect on that 52,000 to be able to grow that lead further. they are hoping to grow it big enough that when the final batch of votes, the final big batch of votes for maricopa's 290,000 votes that were dropped off on election day by voters. there were some reason to think that -- we don't know -- there are some reason to think that could

actually, his lead grew as more ballots were processed overnight in maricopa and pima counties. i'm going to give you the percentages there of what happened last night in a second. what i want to show you is how blake masters could potentially depending on how the rest of the vote comes in, make up that gap. let's put up the black board here for a second. there are 560,000 votes remaining. i'm going to write that down. if he were to win, blake masters, 60% of the remaining vote, let's do times 60% here. that would give him 336,000 votes. the important number here, which i will write down for you, is that would net him, and i've got to put my glasses on for this. that would be a net, a net of roughly 112,000 votes. which you can see is greater than the margin separating them now. so if you're blake masters, oh, that's a good thing, but, but let me swipe this out here. this is why i want to tell you what happened last night. there were more ballots counted in maricopa county last night. 61,000 votes counted in maricopa county. and i told you that blake masters, he's looking at 60%

you saw mark kelly ahead by 89,000 but then votes released from maricopa county and pima county, his lead grew to 95,000. i'm going to tell you this, you have to take my word for it, there's about 560,000 at least, 560,000 votes at least left to count. largely from maricopa county here and pima county down here. what these votes look like we're not sure. two years ago that vote, that batch was a little more republican. so blake masters has a chance here to close this gap and maybe overtake it. i did some math. if he manages to win 60% of the remaining vote, if, that's a tall order but not impossible, that would net him a total of 112,000 votes. okay. >> okay. >> which is more than 95,000. so his target is right around 58%. it's a high bar, not impossible. so this race not over. and just to remind people, if democrats take both these seats then the runoff in georgia won't matter in terms of determining control. like wise for republicans. if one party can win either of these seats georgia doesn't matter for control. >> i think also a question about masters is does he get all the traditi

one in southern arizona, tucson, pima county, one in maricopa county. two there that democrats badly needed and the final batch of ballots in each one of those districts moved against them, and they went over to in those districts. so i think that cost them dearly. and you start looking here at california. again, this is one of those seats. this 27th district in california. this is the third time that christy smith has run against mike garcia. they ran in 2020. the district was a little bit different back then. the margin was 333 votes for mike garcia, the second closest house race in the country. so democrats had big hopes for this race. christy smith talked about this when she basically conceded the race online. she said democrats weren't spending money. l.a. is an expensive media market. so she thinks that hindered her here. but garcia doing much better against her this time around than two years ago. so democrats just lost that last gasp they had over the weekend. and big picture i would just say, if you zoom out and look at the big picture of the h

kelly did very well with the votes to came in, about 13,000 of them from pima county. also from maricopa county which is the giant in the state. the majority of the vote from the state comes from maricopa county. again, kelly winning the votes, about 62,000 that were released here. he won them by about 12 points over blake masters his opponent. what that did was it brought kelly vantage statewide to about 95,000 votes. now there are still a lot of votes to come in arizona and mainly in maricopa county which that is just a mother lode of votes in the state. what is still to come we think are 50,000 votes that voters returned or came into polling places on monday. we probably have something in the order of 65,000 or so votes that came over in over the weekend. those will still be tallied, and based on what we saw from those votes that came in tonight, this pool of votes could help kelly build an even bigger lead over blake masters. if this pool of votes looks like the pool of votes like we got out of maricopa tonight, that will help kelly pad his lead. but the big number
