the only night that i in my personal experience recall that feels like this one was the night that pinochet the country was going to return to democracy after 17 years of his autocratic rule and obviously donald trump is not him but the trump era was in such a departure from our traditions, democracy, our traditions of civility, our traditions of orderly transfer of power. our democratic traditions. that it feels like getting past that, getting rid of that is an enormous liberation and that's what it felt like today. i thought tonight in those speeches, there were two really stunning speeches. kamala harris spoke about ushering in a new day and she looked and sounded like a new day. she looked and sounded like the future, the first woman, woman of color to occupy the vice presidency. what an amazing thing and what a hopeful thing for the country. and joe biden i thought struck all the right notes in talking about how he intends to approach his presidency as the president for all americans. i think it's what a lot of people wanted to hear and you got the sense there will be a terrific team.
