it's impacting 911 calls in pinole, hercules and san pablo. at&t says a service line was cut in pinole, and they're working to locate it and repair it. all 911 calls in that area are now being rerouted to the contra costa sheriff's office and then transfer to the pinole dispatch center. several other pinole city service lines are down, including public works and some city hall phone lines as well. meantime, at&t and verizon customers nationwide are reporting cell service outages started early this afternoon, some 5000 customers impacted. at&t says it's working with verizon on the issue. not clear whether the pinole 911 outage is related to this, but at&t says 911 calls are not being impacted by this particular outage. this comes after that massive at&t outage back in february that impacted thousands upon thousands of customers. the hunt for hot spots and a cause. that's what's happening in redwood city at that affordable housing project that was gutted by fire. the fire broke out yesterday morning on middlefield avenue. it burned for hours. pe
