pittenger: good morning to you, sir.t: you also serve on the task force on terrorism and unconventional warfare. i want to get your thoughts about what the u.s. response to syria should be at this time. rep. pittenger: i think it should be a targeted response, and measured and considering what has been done, which has been horrific and egregious. the president i am sure is working with the secretary of defense. the response will be proper for what is done. i believe he should do something . regrettably, we are still suffering throughout the world because there was a line drawn in the sand and nothing ever was done. i think the world sees this president as remarkably different, and that is why they trust him. that is why the 55 nations in the muslim world came to meet with the president. after a year, who would have believed that 90% of the landmass has been taken back? i believe the president's judgment, along with his good advisors, will do the right thing. host: we sought military response last time. what makes the dif

i'm asking congressman robert pittenger next. the day after chemo might mean a trip back to the doctor's office, just for a shot. but why go back there, when you can stay home, with neulasta onpro? strong chemo can put you at risk of serious infection, which could lead to hospitalizations. in a key study, neulasta reduced the risk of infection from 17% to 1%, a 94% decrease. applied the day of chemo, neulasta onpro is designed to deliver neulasta the next day, so you can stay home. neulasta is for certain cancer patients receiving strong chemotherapy. do not take neulasta if you're allergic to neulasta or neupogen (filgrastim). ruptured spleen, sometimes fatal as well as serious lung problems, allergic reactions, kidney injuries, and capillary leak syndrome have occurred. report abdominal or shoulder tip pain, trouble breathing or allergic reactions to your doctor right away. in patients with sickle cell disorders, serious, sometimes fatal crises can occur. the most common side effect is bone and muscle ache. so why go back there

pittenger: thank you. mr. speaker, chairman wilson, thank you for your leadership and for providing this opportunity tonight for us to highlight the significance and the importance of this tax bill for the american people. you know, mr. speaker, when i lived in washington, d.c., in 1980, came out of the malaise of an economy that wasn't growing, no jobs, no opportunity. and ronald reagan had a vision for a different america. and i worked hard on his campaign. and he changed the whole structure of our tax code, reduced regulations that moved this economy forward. unprecedented growth in jobs, 18 million jobs came out of that economy. and that's what this vision of president trump and this congress is about today. who would have thought a year ago, just a year ago, that america would be experiencing what it is today? companies like apple reinvesting $350 billion, exxonmobil, $50 billion. you have unemployment plummeted to a 49-year low. u.s. manufacturing is expanding at the fastest rate in 14 years. and consume

pittenger: thank you for your leadership on this legislation. i rise today in strong support of the gentleman from arkansas as well and the whip of the financial services committee r his work on h.r. 4790, the volcker rule regulatory harmonization act. mr. hill's legislation streamlines the rulemaking process by granting the federal reserve sole authority to make exemption determinations volcker rule. this simplification is a vital change for the regulatory inconsistencies of the current volcker rule by resolving the problem of having five different regulators weighing in on the same issue. this bill also exempts community banks under $10 billion in assets from the rule. mr. speaker, i want to note that according to the fdic, community banks with less than $10 billion in assets represent 92% of the insured institutions. now more than ever, actions like this need to be taken to provide relief to community banks and smaller financial institutions. look no further than my state in north carolina which has lost 50% of its banks since this financial
