it happened near lorraine avenue in pittsburg.he woman was in her car with her 12-year-old son when it happened. officials say she believed she was performing routine maintenance. his son was in the car at the time. the acura sedan developed a problem. it was a problem familiar with the driver. whenever the car ran over something big, the undercarriage rattled. the woman got out, put wooden blocks on the frame to hold up the car. she then crawled underneath the vehicle. >> there was a low vehicle to the ground to begin with. she jacked it up. the son was in the vehicle s till. she went under the vehicle to attempt to engage this part that was disengaged and the vehicle fell on top of her. >> a good samaritan top -- s topped when they noticed the woman was in trouble. they say that woman used another jack to hike up the acura. police say the weight of the vehicle kept the woman from breathing but she was not beat up with chest injuries. this certainly could have been a tragic accident but the woman's conditions suggest it still may

police arrested this man, 58- year-old, of pittsburg on sunday in connection with the murder of david lewis. friends of the suspect and the victim say the two were l ong- time friends. they were also former drug addicts who had turned their lives around. investigators haven't said if he confessed but they say they have evidence of his involvement and believe he acted alone. >>> oakland police plan to hold a news conference within the next hour to talk about an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead and two other men in custody. police are still looking for a fourth man who was in this car when it crashed yesterday afternoon near 33rd street and 13th avenue. investigators say all four were in this car when officers tried to pull him over and that they took off, crashing after a short chase. that's when officers shot one of the men who jumped from the car. 19-year-old abutae edwards. >> that person did have a handgun and he was shot. he was pronounced dead on the scene. >> police say they tried to stop the car because they believe it was linked to a gang shooting last friday n

another 500 customers lost power briefly yesterday afternoon in pittsburg and bay point, this after a car ran into a power pole. and in redwood city and belmont, electrical service is back to normal following two separate outages caused by downed trees friday night. here's an example of the storm-related problems pg&e faces. in oakland winds knocked down a tree on quickly street near i-580. oakland firefighters and pg&e crews were dispatched to the scene. after the tree fell on a power line leading to one home, that house was damaged, too. the tree also hit a car that was parked nearby. despite all the rain, a lot of people are counting on this weekend to finish their holiday shopping. lisa amin gulezian shows us what shoppers are dealing with. >> college avenue merchants are trying their hardest to lure in shoppers with sales and signs of the season. retailers last-minute push before christmas. and it's a soggy one. >> the rain is affecting things. we're definitely having an increased business but it isn't what it would be if it was moderate weather. >> when customers are extra consi
