it's here that a corrections officer, 37-year-old keith christopher from pittsburg, is accused of smuggling in cell phones. an inmate's girlfriend and another person from tracy bought as many as 25 cell phones and paid the corrections officer $500 per phone to get them inside and deliver them to the death row inmate. the inmate sold the phones to other death row inmates for $900. >> the phones are what they use to communicate with the criminals outside. it's not calling home to check on mother. >> reporter: according to court documents inmates have used cell phones to coordinate violent attacks against inmates as well as smuggling of contraband such as cell phones and drugs. our kpix5 security analyst says that makes the allegations more concerning. >> these are death row inmates. these guys aren't in for bank fraud. they're in there for heinous crimes. >> reporter: a former fbi agent he says based on the scope of the case he thinks other guards were involved and could be targets of the ongoing investigation. >> they will uncover probably more corruption than just this one individual. it's

highway 4 really saw a build start early out of pittsburg this morning. walnut creek just fine. the altamont pass with early morning wind advisory. the south bay early slowing cleared up. we like to see that. >> yes, we do. it's been a chilly start and also dealing with some more clouds and even some light mist and drizzle in parts of the bay area this morning, this coming with temperatures now at 46 degrees in santa rosa and 52 in dublin. a cool start with a jacket needed and maybe a couple of swipes of the windshield wipers as we're starting out. a live look at dublin, only making it into the upper 60s today. how does this compare to normal for october? usually in santa rosa we're hitting about 80 degrees, and san francisco's normal high temperature 71 degrees. we'll be at least 10 degrees cooler for today's high temperatures. in the south bay expect a high of 68 degrees. for the east bay we're looking at temperatures reaching up to 70 in antioch, hayward up to 65 degrees, near the coast some low 60s, upper 50s for half moon bay and much of san francisco. our north bay tempera
