we do have a crew on the way to pittsburgh. we're going to bring you updates as we get them now up north. fire season officially begins tomorrow for santa rosa fire. that declaration, prompted by that warm, dry weather, wet winter and increased fire activity in the past few weeks. and we're getting another warm up this week. let's check in with meteorologist rob matt and see how hot it is. and check on that fire, too. yeah on the john fire here near john henry johnson parkway in contra costa county. the latest conditions there show you the wind is the story as we see the origin of this fire just to the east of john h. johnson parkway. there now burning through the old delta view golf course region. you can see that there are homes to the west, to the north and to the northeast. the footprint of this fire, now at 47.8 acres, has made a run off to the north and east, kind of bound in by that former golf course area. wind is the main concern. the reason why it is running off to the northeast, as we have gusts 20 to 30mph right now
