this is the suburban pittsburgh area on the western side of the state.o we're getting a good handle on the northeast corner and the pittsburgh area. that is an area that biden won by six pointsback in 2020. the current congressman, democrat conor lamb, he is retiring in this race. he pulled off a major upset in a special election in 2018, which at that point was said to be a harbinger of change to come that we did see in terms of democrats taking over the house. so he won what was reliably a republican seat then. that was in a different district. its been redrawn as we have seen in a lot of states, this year he rain in the state's senate primary, but conor lamb lost to john fetterman. so as i said, that has raised a lot of questions about what we watched unfold last night. let's bring him in. jeremy schaffer joins me now. good to have you with us today. give me a sense of where you feel this race is right now in the 17th district. you're in an area where we heard john fetterman say last night that he's a steeler's fan through and through and you're in st

pittsburgh. police are responding to the scene along davey avenue, which runs by city park. this is an areathan a mile from pittsburgh high school, ktvu jana katsuyama just arrived on scene. jenna, what can you tell us? well this always happening right outside the parkside market, which is over here near davey and civic so you can see that police have blocked this off. that's because if you look down the road a little bit, you can see where there is a dark colored pickup truck that is on the side of the street. that is where we are told a woman who was driving the vehicle was shot and there was also a child who was inside. now we understand that the child might have been hit in the stomach by bullets and was taken to the hospital. we also understand that the woman who is driving, police say was also injured by the gunfire and was taken to a hospital as well. now police say that they are still right now trying to go through evidence we can see just even from where we are the bullet holes that are in the side of the truck, as well as some areas that they have marked off along the street. wher
