what exactly is it for pkd? >> polly sistic kidney disease, is genetic disease it is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases there are. essentially what happens your filled cysts and it causes kidney failure. >> both of you have the disease. you are already on a transplant waiting list right? >> i'm on three transplant lists. i started dialysis in november of 2013. >> okay. so that was three years ago. so, what happens, how does the disease progress to the point where you need dialysis and a transplant in your case? >> everyone has a different trajectory when it comes to that kidney disease. and how fast it progresses. some people have it may not develop complications until they are in their 60s. but my case i developed it when i was 52. so, but most people develop it in their 50s that's the average. >> okay. so it is genetic right? >> it is. >> that's who would be affected. can you get it if somebody in your family line doesn't have it? >> there is, there are incidents of getting pkd. there fin
