"today in the bay" eastpoint joins us live from pleasanton. teachers took pictures of the little girl bound with duct tape. >> reporter: it is one of those stories. it certainly makes you shake your head. we are told that the pastor of the church is who ahorrified ans no child deserves to be treated this way. there is a meeting with parents after this about these disturbing allegations. a little girl had her hands and feet taped up. that was her punishment for refusing to take a nap. the incident happened at centerpointe preschool where a 2-year-old wouldn't go to sleep. the teacher took out the masking tape and taped her up and took a picture. the teacher shared the story and photo with a former colleague at a luncheon. one of the people there included the girl's mom who is a teacher at centerpointe christian school. she went on to tell the police and the school. >>> we immediately listened to her talk to the other teacher and notified licensing of the incident. >> the report from the state licensing department obtained by the pleasanton path

alex savidge is live in pleasanton.l held a news conference just hours ago. >> reporter: yeah, and that's when we learned that the little girl involved in this incident was actually pulled out of the school last week. church leaders did speak out this week, they said they are simply stunned about the accusations against this woman who used to work for centerpointe cyst christian school -- christian school. she is accused of binding the girl's hand and feet because the girl reportedly refused to take a nap. we're told the teacher resigned before these accusations against her surfaced last week. according to her filed with the department of social services, the former teacher bound the child's wrist and ankles with masking tape and then took a photograph of the girl and she's then accused of showing off the photograph at a social gathering. she showed it to several staff members of the school. one of them happened to be the mother of the child in the photo. the mother called police. a criminal investigation was launched.

>> reporter: administrators are expected to talk more later on this morning and we expect pleasanton police will discuss details later this morning. it was a troubling complaint filed against the woman who was a teacher here at centerpoint preschool because the girl would not take a nap, and she took a photo of the girl. the didn't came to light when the teacher showed the picture to staff members at a social gathering, one happened to be the mother of the child in the photo. the allegation reported on march 5, it's unclear exactly when the incident took place, but in light of the investigation centerpointe will suspend preschool classes for five days starting friday so staff can undergo training. we also understand the school will be holding a meeting for parents later on tonight to have all their questions answered as well. in addition, administrators have responded to this, they are trying to be open, and pro- active in their response. they have said they are appalled and shocked by what may have taken place here and we're told church leaders are on their way right now here to the
