we had a cloud-tele-ground lightning strike near pleasanton a little while ago.still have scattered showers across the bay area. it is not raining everywhere, far from it. a heavier batch of rain is sliding up towards san jose, but this is a look at ray moving along 680. downtown san francisco, bit of a break, but there are showers moving along the coast and across the golden gate into marin county. everything's been wheeling around the center of this storm system just off shore at the moment, and we stay at this level tonight and tomorrow night. first pitch is at 6: 40. kind of seattle -like weather in early may. more showers likely as we start the day on wednesday. be prepared for a slower than usual drive to work and allow extra time. grab an umbrella and a raincoat. it is going to be another unsettled day overall. plenty of breaks in between the showers but during the afternoon we will see more showers bubbling up and the potential that those could grow into a full-fledged thunderstorm. not as likely as it has been today, though, because the center of the sto

. >> bob redell is live in pleasanton. break down what's going to happen here. >> reporter: good morning to you, marcus and laura. walgreens has reached a tentative agreement with consumers who used those theranos blood tests at walgreens stores in arizona and here in california. the three-page joint notice of settlement was filed yesterday in the u.s. district court in arizona. the plaintiffs in that suit against walgreens claimed that the drugstore was willfully blind to fraud at the company, at theranos. documents show lawyers for walgreens and consumers expect to submit a request for court approval in about three weeks. terms of the settlement have not been disclosed. walgreens had a partnership with theranos to offer blood tests at its stores. it's not clear what it means for customers who have a claim. theranos founder elizabeth holmes is set to begin serving a more than 11-year prison sentence next week. last week an appeals court rejected her bid to remain out of prison while she attempts to overturn her january 20

when we look at the daytime high, let's use pleasanton as an example, we'll go to the mid 70s. yesterday was the mid 80s. we are not all cooling down ten degrees but in the inland east bay valleys, i 70s over here which is where we were in the mid 80s yesterday. quite the drop. we can check the marine layer to see a tug in the coastline. we are not seeing a lot showing up unless you are on the city and down the peninsula where the clouds are. the reason we had to drop so much from yesterday to today was this cold front. look at the line in the clouds. see it? that passed through while most of us were sleeping. that's now down towards the central coast. it wasn't a particularly strong cold front but was enough to start a cooling trend and in the wake watch the marine layer fill back in. that's tomorrow. we'll see more gray sky wednesday. thursday it will be more noticeable. watch it fill in on thursday so much so that it gets to inland valleys and goes toward sacramento. by the time we get to thursday, we might see a few thunderstorms pop up on the far northern third of the stat

upper 60s from concord down into pleasanton.otice how we are well below average even near the coastline. this is what our temperature anomaly map is showing. santa rosa, even down to 14. all of our microclimates are nice and cool thanks to low pressure parked offshore. that will be the case today and tomorrow. we will start warming up right around the corner. in two days, we are heading into the meteorological summer season from june, july, even into august despite the fact that the summer solstice will happen in 22 days. we are starting to see that trend in the upward direction already when it comes to temperatures. here is a look at san jose. upper 70s, low 80s. it lines up perfectly with that season heading into -- excuse me. low 60s for now, anywhere from san francisco across the bridgemil up w 70 today, upper 70s tomorr we had the upper 80s, low 90s near brentwood, antioch. it will feel nice and toasty heading into the weekend. a similar trend for the northbay. still in the low 60s. up to 80 by the weekend. >>> a dire warni

we are right at that point in the day anyway, and since we top out around 88 here for pleasanton, livermore, let's look ahead, and you can see how much cooler you are about to get, by the time we get to thursday and friday, back down into the mid-70s. here is everybody's daytime highs today, we are going to experience a cooldown, it just won't be as dramatic as the places that had the warm-up so much. the northbay valley and south bay, in the low 80s today, your numbers will come back down into the upper 70s. we will put a little more detail on this throughout the day, so you can see the contrast. the microclimate, big differences from the mid-80s to the mid-70s . the marine layer is out there, it's just melted all the way back to the coast right now. so, everybody has got sunshine. let's switch from the satellite data, we are going to put this into the futurecast which depicts the marine layer beautifully. we will play it forward, watch the time go by, it'll creep back into the golden gate first. you can see under that, the marine layer will fill in most of the bay again tomorrow morning.
