we're in the new surgery center here at the valley humane society in pleasanton.ly, there are a lot of cats and dogs that need new homes like this guy right here, bob redell, whose appearance and resemblance to me is uncanny. we're both salt and pepper. he's got a little darker eyes, but we both like to lick the microphone. emily schultz is the manager for the foster and adoption here at valley humane society. these two dogs have a unique story. they came from maui as a result of the fires. >> that's right, they came to us from the fremont shelter, but were transferred from the maui humane society. we've made room for the animals who are homeless, who have lost their families in the fires. and we're grateful to be able to take care of dogs like this. bob has been in the shelter as a stray since june and valena has been there since april. this is a great dog that does need a home. she's just amazing, super friendly. great with other dogs. it's just so amazing to see how resilient a dog is after these adventures. she loves playing with bob. >> reporter: i was asked
