in pleasanton. lauren martinez, abc seven news. >> two vallejo firefighters were injured today while pulling a man from a burning car. the firefighters responded to the scene this morning when a camaro rear ended a vallejo water truck and caught fire. two firefighters were hurt pulling the injured driver from the camaro. one suffered first degree burns, the other a strained shoulder. the driver was also injured and taken to the hospital. >> well, just two more home games at the coliseum remain for the oakland athletics. then it's over. the a's opened their final home stand series yesterday with a 5 to 4 victory over the rangers. the fans love that, but they are really bummed, of course, about the team leaving. but as abc seven news reporter tim johns explains, it's shaping up to be a double blow for coliseum workers at the end of this week, the oakland coliseum will still be standing, but with no baseball team for the first time in 57 years, brian johansson will be at the last a's game on thursday.

now the pleasanton pd is sending out a warning. it's received numerous reports about scam callers spoofing the department's phone number demanding money. the calls come from phone numbers that look like they're the real deal. they look like the pleasanton pd, but police say they never asked for payments over the phone. so don't be fooled. agencies all across the bay area have been reporting similar scams. so this is what you're supposed to do. hang up and never give your personal information out. developing tonight, protests intensify here at home as conflict escalates in the middle east. this was a few hours ago in san francisco at the federal building. those people are protesting the recent bombings in lebanon at the hands of israeli forces. more than 500 people have been killed in lebanon in the last two days. the group also called for an immediate arms embargo on israel. a u.s. troops are headed to the middle east in the coming days. the defense department plans to send a few dozen troops to help any americans there leave safel

marcus was telling you folks, this part pleasanton to sunol. that was the last full closure of south 680. now this affects another group outside of sunol, but getting into the south bay from the east bay, we're looking at southbound 680 from san ramon. from acosta down to 580 itself will have the closure. the access to the dublin area via 580 from 680 will be limited. you can use san ramon road as an alternate. so during the very early or very late hours when there's much less traffic, you can use this two two lane divided roadway to get past the closure, but otherwise the volume will probably be too much because only two lanes of local traffic are not enough to keep up with all the 680 traffic coming down out of contra costa county and down through san ramon via danville and even diablo. so for folks traveling from that area, you might want to take 24 over to 13, five, 80 or 880. some folks might be heading to the a's game and that would be the preferred route. even if you have to go up and over. so do consider that now, as we're looking at th

it's 10 33 and in the east bay pleasanton. police say 2 miners were involved in a stabbing that then led to a crash. that was yesterday afternoon that officers were called out to the scene of this crash. spotted several people running away. they had to use a helicopter to track down where the driver ran off to. they found this teen had a stab wound in his torso and they discovered that there had been some sort of fight between that teen and another one. obviously one stabbed the other. knife was recovered and the victim was taken to the hospital and released later that day. >> in the south bay, a man who was a passenger in a car was killed when the car crashed in san jose. and police think that the driver may have been impaired. total of 3 people were in the car, all 19 years old and they were going southbound on want to water around 03:30am, in the morning on sunday when the driver lost control and crashed just south of san of antonio street. the 2 passengers were ejected from the car and one of them died of his injuries. the

a 34 is the time in the east bay pleasanton.say 2 miners were involved in a stabbing following a car crash. now yesterday afternoon officers were called out to this crash and several people were seen running away. so the police used a helicopter to track down. the driver eventually found that person with a stab wound. police also discovered one minor with a stab wound and another as well. second miner that didn't have a stab wound. but in any event, a knife was recovered and the victim was taken to the hospital and released later that day. >> it's a 34 and in the south bay, a passenger in a car was killed in a suspected dui crash in san jose. 3 people were in the car. they're all 19 years old, traveling south on one on one, about 03:30am, in the morning on sunday when the driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed just south of antonio street. the 2 passengers were ejected. one of those passengers died of his injuries. the other 2 people in the car did live in so far. the investigation shows that alcohol is suspected as a fa

southbound lanes of 680 are shut down from acosta boulevard in san ramon to the 580 interchange in pleasanton. that closure went into effect at nine last night. it will last all weekend until 4:00 monday morning. this is all part of that ongoing 680 repaving project. while all of those southbound lanes are closed. northbound lanes are open. caltrans says that the complete closure of the southbound lanes helps their crews get 40 nights worth of work done in just one weekend. two more 680 closures are planned for october. as you might imagine, not just commuters are inconvenienced, but so too are nearby businesse. yeah, we can use this one. this one. the mondays are weekdays are pretty slow, and the weekends are a lot busier than weekdays. town has families from other cities, so they bring their family from other, other areas, other cities, and if they're driving them by, by, by themselves, it could be a problem. so if you are heading out in the east bay today or tomorrow, be sure to check traffic and map out your route ahead of time. we've posted helpful detours and more information about the

yesterday we were in the mid to upper 80s inland and some of our inland east bay communities, pleasanton, you may not reach 70 degrees this afternoon. most of the more inland areas like their filled in antioch will reach the upper 70s because they will see more sunshine . places around the coast will sit in the mid to lower 60s with the marine layer and the wind holding strong most of the afternoon. although you will be seeing one period of sunshine and most likely in the earlier parts of the afternoon hours. if you want to head out to the santa clara one festival, likely around 1:00 p.m. you will see temperatures at 70 degrees and a lot of sunshine. that will be the best part of the day before more clouds arrive in the better potential of more rain. overnight tonight and into early tomorrow morning. along with a chance for rain comes very windy conditions and we will likely see the westerly winds luckily coming from the onshore direction so that helps fight against wildfire threat. but they will be gusting anywhere from 25 to 45 miles an hour. across the bay area, you will feel the wind
