amy hollyfield live on pleasanton sunol road in pleasanton.ing, amy. >> reporter: good morning. can you imagine driving down the road and seeing and running into this, look at this huge oak tree that had come down and was blocking all these lanes when a car came up and crashed into it. police say they believe this tree came down because of the wet weather that we have been having. this is on pleasanton sunol road, this happened at about 4:45 this morning here in pleasanton. you can see the car being towed away. they haven't told us how the driver is doing, if the driver was hurt in this crash, but what happened was the driver was being pursued by police, they haven't told us why police wanted to pull that driver over, but then the driver crashed into this tree and now the tree has been towed out of here and we're still trying to figure out what happened to that driver. it looks like this road is going to be closed for a while, both lanes are blocked, they've shut down the whole road and we just did see a crew arriving right now, looks like the

pleasanton sunol road, they are clearing up that tree that we've been talking about. crews are out there cutting it up. hopefully this means that the road will be open soon. but it is still closed. again, pleasanton sunol road at castlewood. the road is still closed because of the fallen tree. let's talk about the other commutes around the bay. the bay bridge as tip i can back to the maze. this is a look at interstate 880. traffic is moving well. the city of alameda says they are fixing the traffic lights on webster near star gel, right outside of the tubes. could be delays getting into the posey tube. the dumbarton bridge commute will be okay. driving into silicon valley, 85, slow from 87 up into cupertino. the other freeways are not as bad. of course i want to mention we still have that crash southbound 880 at 237. one lane taken away because of a deadly crash involved a wrong- way driver. 7:19. let's bring in steve with today's forecast. >> thank you, sal. decreasing rain. but a lot of fog hanging around. look at that fog engulfing the city. and there's also some -

police were pursuing mcclinton on pleasanton sunol road.maureen kelly reports, that's a fallen tree got in the way. he was doing 60 in a 30 mile and hour zone.that's how fast the 2005 hyndai elantra was believe to be going when it hit the tree on sunol blvd a little after 3am. it's all cut up now, but this morning it was blocking the entire roadway.pleasanton police say this all started when one of their officers pulled over 30 year old marquice mcclinton for a vehicle code violation. they say mcclinton got out of the car, and refused to take his hands out of his hoodie....the officer drew his weapon and the suspect jumped back into his car and took off. it wasn't long after that mcclinton ran smack into mother nature. here's the hole in teh ground where the tree uprooted by the relentless rain.it was already down in the roadway and it was a large tree about an 80 foot oak tree. and he hit that stop the pursuit. he collision he left our officers were not involved in a collision and we lost him after a foot pursuit mcclinton is now wanted fo

look at this huge tree that came crashing down here on pleasanton sunol road. we are parallel to interstate 680, we are in pleasanton. this happened at about 4:43 this morning, the call came in as police pursuing a car and we do see a car crashed here, a blue sedan. we're told the car did crash into the tree and that's what caused it to fall. it is completely blocking both lanes here so this road is closed this morning. we haven't heard jet whether any injuries were involved. we're still gathering information. we, again, just got here on the scene but wanted to get you these pictures immediately, but we will work on getting more information for you, but right now this road is closed and it doesn't look like they're making any effort at this time to get this cleaned up, it does appear they're waiting for the sun to come up. right now they have officers on either end of this blockage keeping people from coming down this road. we have officers here protecting this scene and watching over it, but no ak taft right now to get this cleaned up. so it looks like this is

let's take a look at where it's raining, right through the sunol grade from fremont up to pleasanton. 680, 84, even down to 880, and looks pretty wet right now. if you're traveling highway 4, brentwood up to antioch, coming through the altamont pass, it is going to be wet right now. you need the windshield wipers and to slow down. look at the clouds and the mild temperatures that will be coming at us from the west. even once the rain leaves us and the lack of sunshine this afternoon we'll still hit about 59 to 62 degrees. tonight, look at all that fog out there. temperatures cooler from the low to mid-40s in the north bay valleys to mid to upper 40s just about everywhere else. inland east bay, south bay, to even 50 around san mateo and san francisco. now here we go from 7:00 this morning. barely seeing radar returns to 9:00. they're just about gone. notice as we head through the rest of the day, yeah, even at noon, there's a lot of gray out there. we may see a few blinks of sunshine, if you will, during the afternoon hours. here's my accuweather seven-day forecast. fog to high clouds

sunol boulevard. that's why we have the slowing through pleasanton, clearing by the time you get in towards sunol. problem for the dublin interchange. a build for hayward coming over towards the san mateo and dumbarton bridges. the bridges are moving nicely but the build is on. over here, south 680 a crash, maybe the second crash, both heading towards the walnut creek interchange on the shoulder right now, fog causing slowing across the carquinez bridge and through vallejo, we have that bottleneck toward highway 29. the richmond-san rafael bridge, sounds like a truck dropped a dolly westbound. there may be a quick break, we will be watching that. and the bay bridge toll plaza the break here because of the metering lights, the span itself is just fine, the backup going back to the berkeley curve, low clouds drifting around but visibility getting a little better, we can now see the lights along the tooefs. for the drivers they have never had a problem it's been above the deck as far as their driving goes. >>> coming up, an exclusive interview with the teacher who was arrested at a school board meeti
