crews from knoxville township rural fire, knoxville fire and pleasantville fire all assisted. a mother and her 2 kids are recovering after a mobile home fire in cedar falls. crews were called to the 25 hundred block of union road just before midnight... firefighters helped the woman escape through a window, and found the 3 year old and 5 year old inside. all 3 were taken to the hospital. the fire was contained to the a saint charles home, on the other hand, was completely destroyed by fire. crews responded to the 23 hundred block of vintage lane around 9-30 this morning. they found flames shooting through the roof, and spreading due to strong winds. everyone inside got out safely except for the family's 4 pets. the causes of both fires are still being investigated. the iowa attorney general's office is dealing with an influx of criminal appeal cases... documents show the office is facing a backlog of about 100 cases.. they've been piling up ever since the supreme court changed some rules back in 20-12. one of those rules increased the appeals per year. it's now hiring 3 tempor
