for the pocanos, down to three miles. visibility a mile. allentown, one of the worst spots is reading down to a mile and a quarter visibility. just a quarter visibility for lancaster. we're down to about four miles in philadelphia. take it easy if you live in those locations dealing with the dense fog. and take it easy closer to the shore where we are seeing a few lingering showers. heading into the afternoon, we'll see more clearing which will be nice coupled with warmer temperatures in the 60s. a very nice afternoon on tap for us. pushing into thursday mild and dry conditions for us. not quite as warm as what we'll see today. and then we track our next system as we head into friday night. so by friday morning, it's still welcomed south of us. heading into the rest of today, your wake-up temperatures show by 8:00 a.m. we're in the 40s. 43 degrees for philadelphia. 40 for allentown. then pushing into the rest of the afternoon, by 2:00 p.m. you will notice most of the locations in the 60s. it is also going to be a comfortable evening with te

the clouds move into the pocano mountains. view from the pocano mountains that will see rain late tonight and tomorrow. but everybody is going to start with some of this. this is snow that's accumulating in chicago, into northern indiana and ohio. that moves in to start with before sleet arrives during the afternoon, late afternoon and evening hours. 4:00 this afternoon, snow in eastern pennsylvania into new jersey. but the large pink area mainly sleet as we go into the evening hours to make it difficult to get around. but overnight tonight, the temperatures will be warming up by early tomorrow morning. some light rain drops and steadier rainfall from 9:00 in the morning tomorrow to 5:00 in the afternoon. potentially heavy rain at times. and at 5:00, look what is going on here. that's the return of cold air that will change the rain back to snow late wednesday evening. this is just updated information. look at the accumulating snow tomorrow night from philadelphia into the baltimore area and trenton will see it, too. then snow

mount pocano 30 degrees. closer to the shore, mid-30s waking up in avalon. and the satellite radar shot shows quiet conditions with plenty of sunshine to start off on this friday. but the clouds will start to increase heading into the afternoon. then the system will move in. this is going to bring us rainfall as we head into the rest of tonight lingering into most of your saturday. the future weather shows that we'll see plenty of sunshine to start. but by 2:00 to 3:00 that's when you will notice the clouds starting to increase with temperatures pushing into the high 40s to lower 50s. then getting into your late evening hours, closer to 10:00 to 11:00, we'll start to see the rain move in from the west and it will continue all day into saturday. so we won't get rid of the rainfall until closer to 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. on saturday. as far as the day is concerned, we'll see temperatures ranging between 48 and 52 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds. then we'll see the rain moving in closer to 10:00 p.m. coming up i'll be taking a closer look at your seven-day forec

look at the mountains. 16 degrees right now in mount pocano. 27 in northeast philadelphia. and 20s at the airport in atlantic city. 26 there. a clear view from this camera in center city looking past the comcast center. sunshine is bright today. you need sunglasses as the high clouds in delaware and south jersey will be pushing to the south. there are other clouds we're watching for tomorrow. moving through the midwest, those are bringing snow to chicago. the snow will miss us but we'll see some of the clouds overnight tonight. and it will be cold tonight with mostly sunny skies and a breezy day ahead. the afternoon temperatures today instead of the middle 50s which is normal this time of the year are in the upper 30s to lower 40s. and another cold morning tomorrow, down to 28 degrees. the high clouds are moving through tomorrow morning and will be clearing out. we'll see sunshine 45 degrees. still 10 degrees below normal this time of the year. the warm up comes with wet weather for later on wednesday and thursday 65 degrees. those numbers may go higher thursday afternoon.

mainly just north of the city of philadelphia up toward the pocanos.but we're going to end up with a nice mild afternoon. this is the area with the possible icing from philadelphia northward. all over pennsylvania county and much of central new jersey it's 35 degrees in philadelphia itself. so that is above freezing right in the city but you get up near the turnpike and north of the turnpike, and we're talking about colder temperatures as you will see in a minute. we have a couple of small areas. this first one, most of this precipitation is not reaching the ground. of course that's good because that pink would be ice. but this area is a little larger moving eastward. if it moves into the cold air before sunrise, then we have more of an issue. now, this is falling from the clouds, but the low part of the atmosphere is dry enough to be causing this to evaporate coming toward the ground. if it falls long enough, it will saturate the atmosphere and come and hit the ground and the pink indicates it would be cold enough for icing. let's take a look at some
