i said, "well, if you let me look at it, i'll be able to say," and he actually brought a polaroid snapshotit, and i instantly fell in love with this painting, and it virtually took me two years to acquire it. one minute he was not gonna sell it, one minute he was, but finally after two years, he brought it in for me to see, and we negotiated the price, and that was about five years ago. and what did you pay for it? well, i've always been a little bit reticent to say how much i paid for it 'cause more than likely i paid too much, but the thing was, i did love it. it's just between you and i. between you and i, yes. i paid, i think, just close on 1,900. 1,900. well, we'll come to that later... but what a picture. it's absolutely fantastic. it's hard to believe that it's a watercolor, isn't it? that's what i first thought. in fact, when i showed it to somebody just to verify it was a watercolor, i did ask an artist to come, and he said, "oh, yeah, that's a print," and i said, "are you sure?" and he took it in the light, and he said, "oh, no, it is an actual watercolor." it's by a chap called
