she was one of my teachers and graduate schools of the opening chapter i wrote in her class with a polaroid. i begin to develop the understanding of when i was -- and graduate school i remember my mom calling me once because she was like i told grandma who we have a very fraught relationship at one point in the book and she says i told your grandma that you're writing a memoir one day and i'm like [inaudible] and mike what did you say. so i think i've known for a while but then my mom passed away and then i just writing would then be the only thing i could do well. it knocked me low. i would forget to eat and sometimes i forgot to socialize and my friends would call and ask if i had ian and i was like no, i haven't but so the chapters and generated then but i think i was scared to write a memoir. it would be a series of essays, linked essays or you know what it is but i was really intimidated and i sold the book in 2015 and i was like it's a memoir and i've had like hello, blake. i had 100 or so pages of material and i felt confident but even then, you know, i sold this book and i think i'm
