that happened before any police were called. then police were called to the scene. at that point they say a man had a hostage inside according to the neighbors with the police. at one point coming out on the back deck. another point coming to the window. he came to the front door. a neighbor told me he had something in his hand. she couldn't tell what. police opened fire and shot him. he was conscious on the scene after being shot. but later he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. the hostage was freed. police are telling me they think the hostage was a man but neighbors tell me the hostage was a woman. we are trying to sort it out. the hostage was only treated for smoke inhalation that we are told at the time. you have a total of three people shot. the two brothers initially shot and drove themselves to the hospital. we don't have an update on the injuries but they were at least well enough to drive themselves to the hospital. then also the man who was shot, the suspect in this case later pronounced dead at the hospital. then the hostage treated
