[applause] >> we celebrate 45 years of promoting culture in the latino community. >> on this 45th anniversary, we are celebrating the mild stone which is being declared a landmark. this building and organization was founded in 1977 by community activist and artist who are seeking equity. there was no place where people of color could exhibit their art work. and there was a need to create a cultural space where latino artist could promote and show their work. so this is what came out of that effort. we have a historical landmark theater, a historic gallery and we have the historic
