he's a 44-year-old man from pomona, new york. his name is shaya lichtenstein. charged with bribing to get pistol permits for up to 150 people which of course are difficult, if not impossible in this city to get. >> reporter: prosecutors say it started when he contacted internal affairs. on bribery charges. sergeant michael villanueva. it's all part of the u.s. justice department's investigation in to police corruption in south brooklyn where officers are suspected of providing favors and other considerations to local businessmen in exchange for gifts, trips, and cash. five nypd commanders have already been transferred and that has put others on the radar. lichtenstein is accused of paying thousands of dollars to expedite the permits which are impossible to get. one man known as license holder one had four automobile accidents, 10 moving violations, an arrest for perjury, and four domestic violence complaints, one in which he was accused of threatening to kill someone. end quote. court, lichtenstein has been released on half a million dollars bail. he's married
